Transport group Cabcharge has lifted its full year profit 30 per cent and says it is cautiously confident about future earnings growth.
Cabcharge’s net profit rose to $60 million for the year to June 30 from $46.1 million in 2010/11.
Revenue rose to $192.4 million from $184.5 million.
Cabcharge increased earnings at its taxi payment system business despite softer economic conditions.
Earnings were also up at its bus and coach businesses in Victoria and NSW, buoyed by the addition of new routes.
“We are still cautiously confident about the prospects for our growth based on the success to date of our initiatives in the payments part of our business and recent acquisitions,” Cabcharge said.
“While economic conditions obviously have an impact, the resilience of the business is being strengthened by the growth of the bus business and the expansion of taxi related services.”
Cabcharge trimmed its fully franked final dividend to 18 cents a share from 20 cents a year ago.
