The next big thing: stock watch — electric vehicles

Print This Post A A A

We’re looking at new trends (and what could be the next big thing!) this year for our subscribers and one that we’ve identified is the increasing prominence of electric vehicles (EV). We intend to keep a watch on EV companies and especially those businesses that are connected to them.

In an article late last year that we commissioned for our subscribers from our long-term writer James Dunn, James looked at 3 stocks that could do well as the move towards electric vehicles (EV) charges along. We asked for this article in response to a conversation that Peter (Switzer) and I had with a close friend in the US, who’s great at picking trends. She’d been following and buying stocks like Blink Charging, which is a US company that provides fast, level 2 EV charging stations and networks for homes and businesses. Its share price has jumped significantly in the last 12 months.

So we asked James to look at 3 Aussie businesses similar to Blink Charging and he came up with the three below, which did go through a significant jump since his article was published, though the market did bring them a tick closer to earth recently.

Still, this is a sector we intend to watch. Here are the graphs for the 3 stocks that James examined.

Looking at stocks that have been on our radar: companies that are connected to Electric Vehicles (EV).
