Aussie shares close higher

The Australian share market has closed higher ahead of the Reserve Bank’s Tuesday interest rate decision.

At the close on Monday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 13.1 points, or 0.23 per cent, higher at 5,827.5, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 17.1 points, or 0.29 per cent, at 5,815.9, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the June share price index futures contract was 11 points higher at 5,810, with 21,554 contracts traded.
