Questions of the Week (17 September 2026)
Is now a good time for a covered call strategy, the broker view on New Hope Corporation (NHC), how the new $3 million super threshold is measured, and when the RBA next meets.

I track the ASX’s most-shorted stocks, using ASIC data, and compare today’s positioning to six months ago to see where professional short sellers are placing their bets now.
How can I get an allocation of stock in the Firmus IPO? What do the brokers think of Audinate (AD8) and do they see much upside? What is the difference between the All Ordinaries Index and the All Ordinaries Accumulation Index, and which is more correct? How do I qualify for the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card?

Is there a ‘death tax’ on super? What’s the broker view on Brambles (BXB)? Why is Droneshield (DRO) being sold down? And can you still jump on BHP’s dividend reinvestment plan?

Last Thursday, Sonic Healthcare (SHL) released its full year profit result. Over the following two days, Sonic fell by 10.5% to close on Friday at $21.08.
What are the advantages of an equal-weighted ETF? Is the takeover of plumbing supplies group Reliance Worldwide (RWC) a “done deal”? Have the brokers raised their target prices for CSL following a better-than-expected result? When does BHP trade ex-dividend? Is it fully franked?
I have been a long-time fan of Telstra (TLS), not because it is a great company – because it is not – but because it is the dominant player providing services that none of us can go without. Further, as an investor, it is a super defensive stock which has reliable earnings, those earnings have been steadily increasing and it pays a good, almost fully franked dividend, which has also been increasing.
