This week, Morgans’ managing partner Raymond Chan placed New Hope Corporation (ASX: NHC) in his ‘likes’ list.

He’s backing the stock due to the improving thermal coal price.
Recently, the share price has enjoyed a nice run up and is currently at levels above $1.70.

Chan has kept his ‘disliked’ stock from last week, again citing Primary Health Care’s (ASX: NHC) FY 16 profit downgrade as reason for concern.
Michael McCarthy from CMC Markets says Crown Resorts (ASX: CWN) deserves the thumbs up.
“On valuation alone I am comfortable buying Crown around $12.25, but the upcoming demerger could see significant value unlocked,” he says.

However, he’s ready to realise some profits in Aurizon (ASX: AZJ) in order to buy back in at a cheaper level.
“Strong share price gains mean this steady earner is running well ahead of any potential earnings growth. Even at optimistic forecasts, you’re looking at a PE of more than 20x,” he says.

“Sell now to buy back cheaper later.”

Technical expert, Gary Stone of ShareWealth Systems, likes Asaleo Care (ASX: AHY) as it’s broken through a key resistance zone between $2.05 and $2.15 and taken out a new, all-time high.

Here’s a snapshot of its impressive uptrend.

He’s less optimistic on the possible future performance of Australian-based hotel and resort operator, Mantra Group (ASX: MTR).

“MTR’s share price has fallen below another support level, indicating that it still could go lower, possibly down to the $2.50 area.

Our Super Stock Selectors is a survey of prominent analysts, brokers and fund managers. Each week we ask them to name a stock they like, and one they don’t like. We purposely ask for ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ instead of recommendations, so it provides an idea of what the market is looking at, rather than firm buys or sells.
