Australian market set for flat open

The Australian share market is set for a flat start to trade after a quiet session on Wall Street, due to a lack of major economic or company news.

In economic news on Wednesday, Westpac and the Melbourne Institute release their latest survey of consumer sentiment.

Reserve Bank of Australia chief information officer Sarv Girn is scheduled to speak at a Committee for Economic Development of Australia event.

The market on Tuesday closed slightly higher, with the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index adding 5.7 points to 5,469.7 and the broader All Ordinaries index gaining five points to 5,448.5.
