The Australian share market has closed higher, its 11th straight session in the green, despite losses in the materials and energy sector.
At the close on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 33.7 points, or 0.58 per cent, higher at 5,811.0, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 31.8 points, or 0.55 per cent, at 5,765.5, according to preliminary figures.
On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was 27 points higher at 5,752, with 32,959 contracts traded.
