Aussie shares close higher

The Australian share market has closed higher, ending the earnings season on a positive note, despite supermarket operator Woolworths dragging on sentiment.

At the close on Friday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 20.3 points, or 0.34 per cent, higher at 5,928.8, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 20.6 points, or 0.35 per cent, at 5,898.5, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was 30 points higher at 5,909, with 27,856 contracts traded.
