Dear %%first_name%%,

Charlie Aitken today takes a look at the beautiful side of the market. He says the rise of the “Instagram generation” has made beauty a big business that’s getting bigger, and US-listed Estée Lauder is benefiting from the powerful combination of beauty, e-commerce and social media. Charlie says EL’s exposure to the most profitable pockets of the beauty category should drive earnings growth for years to come and thinks it has a fantastic long-term profile, and is a good stock to have on the “shopping list” for any market pull back.

Moving from the big and the beautiful, Tony Featherstone is a dedicated follower of the IPO market. In his article today, he says that while small IPOs have challenges, a few of his best ideas for this Report – IDP Education and Reliance Worldwide Corporation – listed on the ASX in the last few years. Tony finds that small-cap IPOs can be dumped for no good reason and are far better value when the market forgets about them. Here he gives an example of such a stock.

In Buy, Hold, Sell – What the Brokers Say, stockbrokers have upgraded and downgraded an equal number of companies so far this week. And finally in Questions of the Week, Paul Rickard answers readers’ queries about investing for the long term, whether the ALP will change the super caps immediately, recession fears and holding too many bank shares in a portfolio.

It was a big week with the Budget on Tuesday evening, followed by our Budget Breakfast the next morning. For those who attended, I hope you took away good insights. We’re working on a Budget summary and will send it out to you soon. Watch this space.
