Dear %%first_name%%,

Well I’ve been sunning myself on a Greek island for the past few days but of course still keeping a very close eye on what’s going on at home. I loved those business confidence numbers, but was a little jaded about the consumer confidence results.

It’s all part of the new volatility that Charlie Aitken talks about in his article today. It’s something we’re just going to have to get used to and know how to manage our portfolios for. And Charlie reveals that he’s about to set up his own fund – along with some of his first investments. Watch this space!

Also in the Switzer Super Report today, following on from the announcement that another European supermarket giant is about to hit our shores, Penny Pryor takes a look at the local players. In Buy, Sell, Hold – what the brokers say, Platinum and Westpac get upgrades and Nine Entertainment, unsurprisingly after its announcement late last week, gets two downgrades.

Tony Negline explains how you can get shares into your SMSF from your personal portfolio and Questions of the Week looks at the best kind of US exposure.

Sincerely,

Peter Switzer
