Dear %%first_name%%,

On Tuesday morning we all woke up with a new Prime Minister – well you know what I mean. It was a bright new day with former businessman and entrepreneur Malcolm Turnbull in the top job. While many were sorry to see Tony Abbott go, there has been palpable excitement in the business and investing community ever since he was toppled on Monday.

So what does this mean for you and you’re portfolio? Good things. If Malcolm can make restoring confidence a priority, then we will see improvement in the S&P/ASX 200 by the end of the year.

Switzer Super Report contributor Charlie Aitken agrees with me and is hoping for a period of stability of leadership and policy. He says if we can get that “I would almost guarantee you that the S&P/ASX 200 will be higher by Christmas, and perhaps significantly higher if it also coincides with certainty from the Fed on US interest rates and Chinese data improving.” (On that note, this week in the Switzer Super Report I answered the question I’ve been hearing a lot lately, should you load up on stocks before or after  the Fed’s decision. You’ll have to subscribe to read the answer.)

Also this week, Paul Rickard updated subscribers on his latest ranking of the big four banks. I’d make a safe bet that all SMSF investors have some, if not all, of the big four in their portfolio. As financials make up such a big chunk of our index – around 40% – you need to! But if you’re looking to rebalance your bank weighting how do you know which ones to add too?

Well you need to subscribe to the Switzer Super Report so you can get Paul Rickard’s regular ranking of the Big Four. I won’t reveal what sits at number one here but Paul did update his ranking on Monday after Westpac’s strategy review last week. Whenever any of the banks does anything of note, Paul updates his ranking.

He also reviews these ratings in response to subscriber questions, if you ask nicely, so any time you like, you can get a pretty good idea of which bank is the best. All subscribers have full access to our Q&A service where you can ask our experts anything and everything you want to know about investing, and you’ll receive a guaranteed, tailored response.

But it’s not just the big companies that we cover in our report. Each week we interview fund managers who tell us where they’re investing and why, so subscribers always have the insider word.

Sincerely,

Peter Switzer
