Dear %%first_name%%,

Instead of sitting in a room with Warren Buffet in Omaha, Nebraska, this weekend as we’d planned, I was soaking up his wisdoms from my bed in Sydney. It wasn’t exactly what I’d been dreaming of, but I still latched on to every word the Oracle of Omaha had to say. So here are my main takeaways from the Berkshire Hathaway (BRK) shareholder’s meeting.

In our fourth portfolio review for this year, Paul Rickard revisits which sectors are performing best and which have underperformed. A good read!

One word that describes what happened to the oil market in April is: scary! But James Dunn thinks energy stocks are still a go and ranks them. So here are 5 Australian energy stocks that are currently showing some investment attractiveness, as well as 2 junior producers that are also boasting some impressive figures.

In Percy Allan’s market analysis today, he asks: Why is the Aussie market remaining bearish while the US is still bullish? Are growth stocks or value stocks performing better? And why are the world’s top 100 multinational companies doing so well?

And in Buy, Hold, Sell – What the Broker’s Say, FNArena counted 20 upgrades versus 17 downgrades for the week ending Friday 1 May 2020.

Talk to you Thursday.

Sincerely,

Peter Switzer
