Dear %%first_name%%,

Last Friday I was invited to the annual Sohn Hearts & Minds conference in Sydney. This organisation has done a great job in Australia, raising over $20 million for medical research into a number of diseases that afflict many people. From two of the world’s best investors and a number of fund managers, I gained many insights that I share with you today in my article.

Paul Rickard quite rightly says that the questions many Westpac shareholders will have, particularly as they also have a current  opportunity to buy more shares in a share purchase plan (SPP), are: Is all the bad news out? And what’s the future for Westpac? In his article today, Paul looks at the scandal, how the market and Westpac are likely to handle this, the share purchase plan and whether you should take part.

And James Dunn says the Australian aquaculture industry is on a roll, with clear progress being made towards best-practice aquaculture, to the point where the industry is regarded as global leaders in fish and seafood farming and environmental stewardship. In the first part of a two-part article, James looks at 4 stocks that could tempt you.

And for the week ending Friday 22 November 2019, FNArena counted nine upgrades for ASX-listed stocks versus 10 downgrades from the seven leading stock brokerages monitored daily.

And finally, in our Hot Stocks today, CMC Markets’ Chief Market Strategist, Michael McCarthy, explains why he likes Soul Pattinson (SOL) but doesn’t like Woolworths (WOW) and Coles (COL).
